If you’re looking for authentic Italian food you can follow your nose to Ellie’s wood burning oven. Step into our bar and restaurant or eat outdoors on a beautiful day. We offer traditional Italian entrees and baked pastas.  Not to mention the best vodka sauce you will ever have. We have unique salads and appetizers. At lunchtime we have our hot subs and paninis cooked on our grill.  Our thin, crispy pizzas and garlic bread fly out of our oven all day long and John’s meatballs are the best around!

The cozy bar hosts many beers on tap and specialty cocktails are plentiful. We take pride in serving our local customers and employees as well as the out of towners who are only in our great city of Newark for a night. Come hang out with our friendly bartenders and servers or bring our food back to your family or office.

About our Chef

Owner of Ellie’s Bistro, John Hrindo has been a chef for over 40 years. Becoming the head chef of The Meeting Place in Madison when he was 23 years old started him off on a lifelong career. After owning Kirsten’s Italian Grill in Lebanon for over 20 years he decided to start again in Newark. This time with not only another authentic wood oven from Naples but a full service bar also.
